Melvin Hugo Croxton, age 56, of Deltaville died Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home with his mother by his side. Melvin attended Middlesex High School. He grew up in Deltaville and loved fishing, hunting, trapping and other types of outdoor activities. His skills as a carpenter took him to Maryland, Northern Virginia and West Virginia, but he always managed to come back to Deltaville. He was predeceased by his father, John Richard Croxton, Sr.; a sister, Debra Croxton Kirkland and his step-father, Ernest Miller. Survived by his mother, Marion Croxton Miller; his children, Lisa Scott Campbell and John Croxton; brothers, John Richard, Jr. of Topping, Michael of Hartfield, James and Richard of Deltaville, five grandchildren, his beloved nieces, nephews and many friends and his best friend Mary Wheeler. He will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Rappahannock Civic Club, 8215 General Puller Highway, Harmony Village.
