Mildred Womble

Mildred White Womble, age 107 ½, of Urbanna, formerly of Caroline County and Richmond, widow of Charles F. Womble, Sr. died Saturday, October 27, 2012. She was the oldest alumni of Averett College and a retired seamstress at Miller & Rhoads in Richmond. Mildred was a member of Urbanna Baptist Church and former member of Salem Baptist Church, Sparta. She was an avid Bridge Player. Survived by her daughter, Frances W. Sharp of Urbanna, son Charles F. Womble, Jr., and his wife Ellen of Sparta, 4 grandchildren; Sharon Sharp, Ricky, Michael and Scott Womble and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 5, 2012 at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda followed by Graveside Services at 1:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 790, Urbanna, VA 23175 or Salem Baptist Church, Sparta, VA 22552.
