Myrtle Miller

January 21, 1929 — March 28, 2017

Myrtle Deagle Miller, 88, beloved wife of Bryan Virgil Miller, died peacefully in her home in Deltaville on March 28, 2017. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents E.L. and Helen Deagle, and a grandson Brandon Miller. Myrtle was a lifelong member of Zoar Baptist Church.   She was born in Deltaville on January 21, 1929. She graduated from Syringa High School and married her high school sweetheart, Virgil, on October 12, 1946. Myrtle and Virgil founded and operated Miller Marine Railway, Inc. After retirement, Myrtle and Virgil cherished their time together for many years in the Florida Keys. They remained inseparable for 70 years, sharing the joys and sorrows of their personal and business lives. Myrtle is survived by husband, Virgil; her brother, Edward Deagle and his wife Kitty of Deltaville; her son Bryan Miller and his wife Debbie of Deltaville; her son Barry Miller and former daughter-in-law Mitzie Miller of Deltaville; her son Bruce Miller and his wife Carolyn of Richmond; eight  grandchildren, Bryan Allyn Miller (Jennifer), Ashley Miller Taliaferro (Mark), Braden Miller, Blake Miller, Kaytlyn Miller Schleef (Ryan), Brent Miller, Brennen Miller and Elizabeth Ann Miller;   four great-grandchildren, Baylen, Benton & Cayden Miller and Duncan Taliaferro; two special cousins Walter Deagle and Janet Bareford, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Zoar Baptist Church, Deltaville. Graveside service will immediately follow. Everyone is asked to please join the family after the services in the fellowship hall for a reception in honor of Myrtle. Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the Miller family.
