Nancy Milby

Nancy Carter Milby, of Hartfield, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was born in Stuart, Virginia on March 21, 1960. Nancy graduated from Patrick County High School and Wingate University. She received her Master’s from George Mason University. Nancy was a special education teacher for nearly 20 years. Nancy is survived by her husband; David Alan Milby of Hartfield, Virginia, her brother; William Curtis Carter, Jr. of Stuart, Virginia, two nephews; Gabe Heath of Charlottesville, Virginia and Parker Heath of Stuart, Virginia . She is also survived by two brother-in-laws; Willard S. Milby (Laurie) and Michael J. Milby (Denise), one sister-in-law Debbie Pharo (Perry) and father-in-law; Willard J. Milby III, all of New Jersey. Nancy is also survived by two dear lifelong friends; Karen Putnam (Thompson) and Shannon Cockram (Smith) both of Patrick County. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; William Curtis Carter and Phyllis Moore Carter, her sister; Amy Ruth Carter, and special aunt; Callie Ruth Carter Price, all of Stuart, Virginia. Visitations will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield, Va. at 10:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with interment in church cemetery. There will be a short reception in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lower United Methodist Church or to Almost Home Gospel Band, care of William Curtis Carter, Jr., 4364 Tudor Orchard Road, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
