Nancy Steele

Nancy E. Steele, 95, of Mathews, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was born on March 25, 1926 in Richmond, Virginia. Nancy was a member of the Christ Ascension Episcopal Church and a member of Ruth Chapter No. 8 OES. She worked as a switchboard operator for McGuire Hospital and Reynolds Metal Co. Nancy Loved cooking, music, dancing, crocheting and cats.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles John Steele, a daughter, Jacqueline Robbins, a son-in-law Calvin Robbins and her parents, Harry Norman and Margaret Elizabeth Jackson.

She was survived by her daughters, Jill Steele, Judy Martin (Michael); grandchildren, Karen Harrell (Earl III), Kristi Croxford (Robert), Jennifer Drunagel (James Thomas), Richard Mabe (Shannon), Daniel Mabe (Shonte); nine great-grandchildren and other loving family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia followed by a funeral service at 11: a.m. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover, Virginia 23069.
