Nancy Wood

Nancy King Wood, 89, of Hudgins, VA, departed this life to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Nancy was a devoted member of the Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene where she played the piano and sang in the choir. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the Reading Hospital in Reading, PA and was a career nurse. Nancy enjoyed fishing and riding on the boat and spending time with family. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed sunflowers, light houses, crocheting, and feeding and watching birds. Nancy will be remembered as a person that was loving, caring, encouraging, and self-sacrificing. Nancy enjoyed sending cards to those who needed greetings and encouragement.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Hiram Wood; sons, Robert K. Shull and Boyd Edward Shull; step-daughters, Dawn A. Best and Gwynn K. Fox; and grandchildren, Tiffany Brinkley, Brittany Shull, Nick Shull, Bobby Shull, Teri Shull, Joshua Shull, and Jesse Shull.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Augusta Memorial Park at 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, VA. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, VA is assisting the Wood family.
