Nettie Williams

Nettie Malinda Williams, 84, passed away, March 30, 2015. A native of Middlesex County, VA, she moved to Maryland advancing her education and completed a lifelong career with Martin-Marietta Corporation. There she held various positions of increased responsibility and recognition. Following retirement, Malinda, being a devout Christian, spent a great amount of time serving others in ministry through her church in Gaithersburg. She often volunteered in soup kitchens and genuinely had a giving heart. Malinda also loved traveling, particularly visiting places of educational interest. Malinda was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Nettie Williams, a brother William Thomas Williams, sisters Charlotte Williams Anderson and Alma Williams Anderson. Malinda is survived by a brother, Daniel Healy Williams, and sisters, Jacquelyn Williams Turman (Danny) and Shirley Williams Brown. Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2015, 6 – 8pm at Bristow Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda, VA. Funeral services will be held 11am, Tuesday, at Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View, VA, with burial following in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
