Nevin Lee Ramsburg of Deltaville, VA passed away suddenly at his home on November 7, 2018. Nevin was born on January 27, 1948 in Baltimore Maryland and grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It was there he developed his life- long love of boating, the water and the Chesapeake Bay. He attended VCU In Richmond, later receiving his BBA degree from Averett University. He remained in Richmond working in the Information Technology field for thirty years, retiring as an Associate Vice President from GE Financial Assurance in 2000. Once again, he turned to the Bay, moving and taking a job as a boat broker in Deltaville followed by 5 years at the Bank of Lancaster.
Nevin was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend and he was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Ramsburg. He is survived by his mother, Mildred P. Adams and step-father, Howard of Williamsburg, VA, his wife Suzanne, 2 daughters, Anne Michelle Munson (Noel) and Meredith Ramsburg Walker (David), 2 granddaughters, Catharine Lorena and Heidi Elizabeth Munson, and 3 grandsons, William Nevin, David Andrew, and Jackson Wesley Walker.
In his retirement, he became an avid golfer, continued his love of cruising the Chesapeake and spending time with his family and friends. He was known by his cruising friends as “the friendliest guy on the Bay”. He was a member of DCA, Clarksbury United Methodist Church and the Chancel Choir there.
A memorial service will be held at Clarksbury United Methodist Church in Hardyville, VA at 2 PM on Saturday, November 17 with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarksbury UMC, PO Box 10, Hardyville, VA 23070 or the Middlesex Rescue Squad, PO Box 98, Deltaville, VA 23043.
