Paige Hogge

Paige W. Hogge, age 65, of Urbanna died Saturday, May 24, 2014. She was the widow of James A. Hogge and was also predeceased by her father, Charles Bentley Wilkerson. Paige was a 20 year employee of Va. Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County. She was very involved with 4-H to make camps successful and wanted all children to have the opportunity to attend. She was co-owner of Buster’s Seafood and was a strong advocate for commercial watermen. She was a member of the following boards and committees: The (Governor Appointed) Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Virginia Aquaculture Advisory Board for 6 years, The Virginia Marine Resources Commission Blue Crab Management Advisory Committee for 15 years, The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Aquaculture Committee for 13 years and Current Vice President and acting President of the Virginia Soft Crab Producers Association. Survived by her son, Shawn P. Traylor (Avis); her mother, Dorothy G. Wilkerson; a brother, Charles B. “Bennie” Wilkerson, Jr. (Alisa); sister, Cheryl W. Selden (Jeff) and step grandchildren, Christine Miles and Eddie Kain. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View. In lieu of flowers consider contributions to Middlesex 4-H, make checks payable to Virginia 4-H Foundation and mail to; VCE-Middlesex P.O. Box 96, Saluda, VA.
