HARTFIELD- Patricia Becker, 80, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday. June 27, 2013. Born October 29, 1932 on Long Island NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Kathleen Wright. She lived most of her life in Hunterdon County NJ until relocating to Hartfield VA in 2003.
Pat was an avid sports enthusiast and a gregarious person with an active social life, which included regular dinner dates with friends. She especially loved visiting the southwest each year and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and softball. She graduated from Adelphi University with a major in speech therapy but chose to stay at home and raise her children. An animal lover who owned a small farm in NJ for many years, she fulfilled her dream of working in a veterinarian’s office once her children were grown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack Becker. She is survived by her sons John (Stacy) of Glen Gardner NJ, Robert (Kristina) of Albuquerque NM, her daughter Nancy Moore (Steve) of Deltaville VA, her two grandchildren Harley and Quinlan Moore, and her beloved dog, Sparkie. Pat will be greatly missed by her family and all those folks whose lives she has touched. Her family will be eternally grateful to the wonderful ladies who cared for her during her brief illness Robin, Beverly, Sharon, and Cheryl, and especially to Pat’s special “sister” Mary Ruth Armistead.
Memorial services for Pat will be held at a later date in VA and in NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be contributions to the V Foundation for Cancer research, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
