Patricia (Pat) Green, 58, gained her wings after passing away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. This obituary is for a great Woman, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother born on November 6, 1960.
She leaves behind a family that she was very proud of. Pat was known for her patience, not holding back her opinion, and known for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She gave us unconditional love, encouragement, wisdom, comfort, kept us in line, taught us the “school of hard knocks,” and gave us something to pass down to our children. Everyone always knew where you stood with her. She liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white. As her children, we are still trying to figure out which one it was for us (we know she loved us).
She will be sorely missed and is survived by her husband Thomas Green Sr; Children: Thomas Green Jr., David Green, Joshua Green, Daniel Green, James Green, Matthew Green and Michael Green; 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father John Rouse Sr., and her mother Mable Rouse; her brothers, Robert Rouse, James Rouse and John Rouse Jr.; and her sister, Linda Mozingo; all of whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace and undying love and caring for them.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Family Cemetery, Tappahannock.
