Peggy Roane

Peggy Colley Roane, age 69, died peacefully at her home in Shacklefords, VA on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.  Peggy was born on October 25, 1948, the youngest of six children of Franklin and Beulah Colley. She loved her home and enjoyed her life on the farm; working in her yard tending the flowers and cutting grass.  She also enjoyed supporting Toys for Tots.  Peggy loved her family and friends and they will miss her greatly.  She will also be missed by her dog, Cody Joe and her cat, Noel. In addition to her parents Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Todd Boone and sisters Laura Mae Walton and Vernelle Hunter. She is survived by her husband, Richard Roane; daughter, Roxanne Haden and her husband Michael, 1 grandchild, Kasey Haden; sisters, Elva Langford and Lena Sickal; brother, Franklin “Tuck” Colley and his wife Darlene; brother-in-law Ed Roane and his wife Patti; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel in Saluda, VA with burial at Hermitage Baptist Church Cemetery in Church View, VA.  The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home prior to the service, beginning at 10AM.  Peggy’s favorite color was purple.  Family members and friends can remember Peggy by wearing purple clothing or a purple ribbon that will be provided at the funeral home.  Peggy’s family wishes to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Riverside Hospice.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hermitage Baptist Church, P.O.
