Randolph Fisher

December 31, 1969 — September 24, 2018

Randolph T. Fisher, 84, passed away peacefully at Layton's Landing after a long illness. He was a kind and exceedingly generous man, quietly giving to those in need throughout his life. A lifelong farmer, other than the 2 years serving his country in the Army, he resided on the family farm for 72 years, where he enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends.

Born to Maynard and May Fisher on July 27, 1934, he moved to Layton's Landing to live with his Aunt & Uncle, Dollie & James Henry Allen, Jr. as a farm hand, and to attend high school where he studied agriculture, played baseball, basketball and was a school bus driver. Upon graduation, he farmed full time for a few years, went briefly into the trucking business, and even was in the insurance business for a short time but returned to farming and trucking, staying in both fields for the rest of his career.

He loved watching the Baltimore Orioles on television, eating seafood, and most of all, his late wife Jackie Allen Fisher, the first Miss Richmond and owner of the Nadji Nook Antiques Shop, who he married in 1968 and who passed away in 1991. Her very successful business grew from him telling her “you can't buy another piece until you sell something.” He was also preceeded in death by his sister Margaret Fisher Foster and brother James Daniel Fisher and is survived by his longtime friend Harry T Gladding, brother Allen Fisher, sisters Janice Swain and Brenda Fisher and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept 30, at the Upper Essex Baptist Church, 3006 Essex Church Rd, Caret, VA 22436, with the Rev. Roy Foster officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Upper Essex Baptist Church Renovation Fund, PO Box 225, Caret, VA 22436. Arrangements by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock.
