Raymond Benson

Raymond C. Benson, 91, of Deltaville, a retired electrical contractor, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, a charter member for over sixty-five years with the Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, a charter member of the Middlesex Lions Club and a member of the Lower Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department.

Raymond is predeceased by his father Frank Benson and stepmother Mae Benson, mother, Hattie Fogg Robinson and stepfather Bob Robinson. Also predeceased by brothers Marvin, Lewis and Jack Benson and a sister Evanne Robinson and a brother-in-law Paul S. Green, Jr.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Milby Benson. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister-in-law, Joyce Green Reisinger (Howard) and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19th from noon until the service time at 2:00 p.m. in Zoar Baptist Church, Deltaville. Internment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Christchurch, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad or Zoar Baptist Church both in Deltaville, VA.
