Rebecca C. Gatten White, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 at her home in Hardyville VA, after a courageous battle against breast cancer.
Rebecca was born June 22, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska to the late Hazel Ruth and Joseph Cuyler Carson, and grew-up in Macomb, Illinois. She was a graduate of Southern Illinois University, a lifelong artist, avid reader, antiques collector, gardener, card and Scrabble player.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles L. “Pete” White Sr., and is survived by her daughters; Ann Cridlin (Wayne) and Caron Sterling (Chris), grandchildren; James and Chris Kemp, Trey Whisenant and Hazel Rose Sterling; her twin brother Randy Carson (Barbara) of McHenry, Illinois; sister Pam Johnson (Robert) and brother John Carson all of Macomb, Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the many friends and family members that helped her through her journey especially Jamie Callis and Shannon Dean.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 18 at Gwynn's Island Baptist Church at 11am. Interment will be during a private service with family at H. C. Smither Memorial Cemetery in Hudgins, VA.
