Robert Ward

Robert Stanley Ward departed this life to be with the Lord on January 25, 2016. He was born on April 21, 1921. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Hunley; his parents, Robert Lee and Elva Ward; and his sister, Mae.

Stanley is survived by his daughters Nancy Smith (Lee) of Bohannon, Va. and Mary Diggs (Chip) of Mathews; nine grandchildren; Elaine Bahr (John), Michelle Denkinger (Mark), Lisa Minor (Brandon), Brian Smith (Chelsea), Wendy Harlow (Ryan), Randal Diggs, Andrea Diggs (James), Kristen Fitchett (Frankie), Leighanne Rivera and twelve great-grandchildren.

Stanley retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1983 where he worked in the Riggers Department.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Windsor Gardens, Dutton, Va. Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 76 North River Road, Bohannon, Va. 23021 or to Meals on Wheels, c/o Nelda Gibbs, P O Box 369, Mathews, Va. 23109.
