Robert Wilkins

Robert P. Wilkins, 75, of Topping passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and crabbing and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to do it as well! He was well known for his carpentry skills, never met a stranger, and was known to help anyone in need. Robert was a welder who worked at the Newport News Shipyard and The Chesapeake Corporation. He was predeceased by his first wife Edna Mae Wilkins who helped daddy make Middlesex our home 50 years ago; son, Gary Allen; sister, Barbara; brothers, Herman, Burman, Pete and William; as well as his parents, Thomas & Willoughby Wilkins. He is survived by his wife, Karin Wilkins; children, Duane Wilkins (Debbie) of Jamaica, VA, Carla Wilkins and fiancé Eric Mikols of Detroit, MI, Sheri Lutz (Carlyle) of Colonial Beach, VA, Kim Bishop (Dennis) of Mooresville, NC; stepsons Tim and VJ Wilkins; and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services were private and were handled by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Saluda.
