Russell Sibley

With heavy hearts Russell E. Sibley, 75, of Topping, VA passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at VCU-MCV Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Haigler and Shirley Carter. He leaves behind Becky, his loving wife of 53 years; daughters, Lynn Eanes and husband Cliff, Esther Robert and husband Paul, Laurie Ann Batley and husband Donald; grandchildren, Brandon, Benjamin and Beth Eanes, Claire and Trevor Batley; brother, Dickie Sibley; sisters, Jean Hayden and Peggy Sanford. He retired 17 years ago from St. Laurent (formerly Chesapeake Corporation) after 39 years of dedicated service. He also served on the Middlesex County Planning Commission Board. He was a lifelong member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church where he was serving as an active Deacon and also served on many teams and committees. He loved spending time with his family (especially the grandchildren), church, fishing, gardening and travel. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 30th at 1:30 pm with the service immediately following at 3:00 pm in Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 7722 General Puller Hwy., Topping, VA with interment in the Church Cemetery.
