Ruther Allen

Ruther E. Allen, Sr., 85, of Catlett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023. He was raised in Champlain, VA and moved to Arlington, Virginia where he was a partner for Arlington Truck Rental for 30 years. He was also a farmer during part of his time at Arlington Truck Rental and for years after he retired. Farming was his true passion. He loved his farm, his granddaughters and his animals. He always gave a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Ruther was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Allen.

He is survived by his son, Ruther E. Allen, Jr. (Patty); his granddaughters, Kristen and Rachel Allen.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Upper Essex Baptist Church Cemetery, Caret. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local SPCA or animal humane society.
