Sally Reville of Tappahannock, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the age of 88.
She was born on November 23, 1931 in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland to Martin Whelan and Katie (Guinane) Whelan.
Sally was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Reville. She was also predeceased by her dear sister, Kathleen (Whelan) Burns, her brother Joseph Whelan, and her brother-in-law, Carmine D’Avanzo. She is survived by her loving family, brother-in-law, Roger Burns of Venice, Florida; brother Pat Whelan and sister-in-law Anne Whelan of County Tipperary Ireland; sister Maureen (Whelan) Finan and brother-in-law William Finan of Valhalla, NY; brother Martin Whelan of the Bronx, NY, and sister Teresa (Whelan) D’Avanzo of Naples, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved nephew, Albert D’Avanzo, who lovingly cared for her throughout her life and during her illness, and by her many other loving nieces and nephews and their families, numerous good friends and wonderful neighbors.
Sally was trained as a nurse, and she lived and worked in the United Kingdom before emigrating to the United States in 1956. She lived and worked in New York until marrying Ben Reville and eventually settling in Tappahannock, Virginia. Sally was a caring and cherished member of her community including her local church, Saint Timothy Catholic Church, in Tappahannock, Virginia.
Her warm and caring nature and amazing hugs will be missed by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 413 Timothy Lane, Tappahannock, Virginia 22560.
