It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Ann “Grannie” West, who peacefully passed away on Saturday March 15, 2025, at the age of 87 at her home in Hardyville, Virginia. She was the widow of the late Raymond Lee West, Sr and the late Daniel Allen “Pop Dan” Fornash. She was a loving and cherished mother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sally Ann “Grannie “West was born August 13, 1937, in Mathews, Virginia. She was a graduate of Mathews High School and a life member of Bethel Church of Mathews. In her earlier years she worked in the Deli at Lou Smith in Hayes, Virginia followed by working at Newport News Public School in the cafeteria. She was a lifetime member of the Gloucester Moose Lodge serving on the “Women of the Moose”. She is known for her kindness, warm smile, unwavering support and her love for animals.
She is survived by her four children, Raymond “Lee” West, Jr (Karen), Patricia Lynn “Pat” West, Clarence Andrew “Andy” West (Kim) and Ernest Clark “Ernie” West, Sr. (Stephanie); her grandchildren, David, Phillip, Amanda, Lindsey, Nicole, Kimberly, Jaci, Chris, Holly, Samantha and Clark and 20 Great-Grandchildren and many other special family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee Callis, Sr. and Mabel White Callis and her brother Ernest Lee “Bubba” Callis, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Harrow officiating.
