Sharon Jewel Fochtmann, of Gloucester, entered the gates of heaven on August 3, 2020. She was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 21, 1942.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kip Fochtmann; and her sister, Darlene Kessler. She is survived by her 6 children; Dee Wojtach of Gloucester, Joseph M. Wojtach Jr. of Richmond, Brian J. Wojtach of Lancaster, Mary Rose Grenier and her husband Scott of Gloucester, Timothy Fochtmann and his wife Cindy of Hartfield, and Roy Fochtmann and his wife Judy of Deltaville. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a brother, Greg Doutre; and sisters, Wanda Sarno, Debbie Doutre, and Suzanne Razis.
Sharon and Kip owned the Hartfield Tastee Treat. They did a fireworks show every year and they also worked the state fair together.
Sharon believed in putting back into the community she lived in. She was an assistant librarian of St. John’s Catholic School in Orange, New Jersey. She was also involved in the Ruritan Township Ladies Fire Auxiliary of Flemington, New Jersey; the Deltaville Ladies Rescue Squad Auxiliary; the Rappahannock Community College Civic Club of Hartfield; and the Ladies Moose Lodge of Gloucester and Newport News. She donated monthly to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at Windsor Gardens Cemetery in Dutton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Please be advised that current state-mandated guidelines will apply to all in attendance, including social distancing and appropriate face covering. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
