Sondra Scott Harrow, in the comfort of her family, passed to her heavenly home, Friday, November 26, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Edward P. Harrow; her children, Patty Bird (Tad), Sue Vielma (John Paul), Beth Rennie, Eddie Harrow (Terry), Sonya Morrison (Bill), Joe Harrow (Leanne); her sisters, Paula Simpson (Bill), Norah Gaye Beach; her brothers, Larry Scott (Faye), J. Monty Scott (Carolyn), and Steve Scott (Maggie); 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Sondra was sweet to a fault which is why she saw the beauty in the small and simple things in life such as flowers. Blue cornflowers and Queen Anne's Lace, considered weeds to most, adorned her table more often than would a rose or orchid.
She could prepare the best meals, make the best banana pudding and sit a horse with the best of us.
She taught Bible Studies and Sunday school. She comforted those who needed comfort and shared that wonderful love that only God can give, to everyone she could.
She rocked her grandchildren in their times of sickness and soothed them in their need.
But most of all, she used that wonderful gift that God gave her, that voice. That wonderful, powerful and beautiful soprano voice. That voice which so vividly described the "Woman At the Well" but then that voice which offered a prayer and blessed so many newly married couples and comforted so many others in their time of need. That voice which thundered through the ceilings of our churches and reached to the skies and into the heavens with her touching interpretation of "The Lord's Prayer."
To those who knew her, to those who loved her, we know that she planted many seeds that will grow in God's fields.
The family wishes to thank Riverside Hospice, Ann Belvin and Sharon Singleton for their compassionate care during this time. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to the Beverly Harrow Scholarship Fund, c/o Zoar Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1010, Deltaville, VA 23043.
Services will be held at Zoar Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2 P.M. with interment following in the Church Cemetery. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel is assisting the Harrow family.
