On this day of March 2, 2023 Stevroula (Stella) Grivas, of Dunnsville, VA joined the angels above. Born in Nashua NH on September 27, 1921 to Vasilike and Nicolas Perperas of Greece. She was born in Nashua, NH, lived in New York for many years and most of her life in Florida, before moving to Virginia. Stella was a woman who enjoyed life to the fullest, living each day with a kind word and a smile. She was very active with the Greek Orthodox Church and with her church family. She enjoyed helping others. She worked for many years at Pan-am in NY and owning and running the Welcome Travelers Restaurant in Franklin, NH. She is loved by all and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her two children, Andrea and her husband, Ken Brown from Franklin, NH, and Andrew and his wife Bonnie Koufopoulos from Jackson, MS; her brother, George Fangiullos of NY; her grandchildren, Dawn and her husband Kevin Austin from Dunnsville, VA, Carrie McDonald of Franklin, NH, Tatianna and her husband, Steven Quick of Avondale, AZ, Christopher and his wife, Andrea Koufopoulos of Wilson, NC, grandson Christopher’s wife Mellissa McDonald of Franklin, NH, Andrea Austin and Cory of Tiltion, NH, Connor Austin and his wife, Elizabeth of Thornton, NH.
Her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Chandonnatt of Concord, NH, Christopher McDonald Jr, David McDonald, Abigal McDonald, Heidi Cayton of Franklin, NH, Ana-lynnea Heath, Isabella Croteau of Tiltion, NH, and Caiden and Lily Koufopoulos of Wilson, NC; Great-great granddaughter, Laurel Spicer of Concord, NH.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vasilike and Nicolas Perperas, and her husband, James Grivas,; sister, Dorothy Perperas; brothers Antony Perperas, and Charles Fanjel; and her grandson, Christopher McDonald.
A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church, Ashland, Virginia on Friday March 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Essex Cemetery, Tappahannock, Virginia. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks-Bristow Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
