Sue Davis Kilmon

April 13, 1943 - November 1, 2016

Sue Davis Kilmon of Cardinal Va went to be with her Lord and Savior early on November 1st 2016 – appropriately on All Saints Day.

Sue was born in Hampton, Va and moved to Cardinal in 1977 where she became Postmaster first of Miles Post office and then of Cardinal Post office where she retired in 2001.

Sue loved her family and her Lord and touched so many lives during her time on this earth. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends were so precious to her and she lived her life with the constant joy of the Lord in her heart. Her one desire was that all would know that same joy.

Sue loved her country and in recent years became involved with local politics and gave of her time and talents to whatever cause she was supporting.

Sue enjoyed spending time with the many friends she had made over the years that held a special place in her heart. Friends from school, from her days riding horses and her church family, not to mention the numerous "adopted" family members brought into the fold by her three children. Her wisdom, words of encouragement, love and friendship will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Barham, her sister in law JoAnn Davis and her grandson William Brian White.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses. Robin Kilmon Southall and her husband Keith; Charles Q. Kilmon and his wife Svetalana and Elizabeth Kilmon Wyatt and her husband Johnathan. Her three brothers Stephen Davis, Chuck Davis, Rob Davis and his wife Cay. 5 grandchildren: Honor Latta, Sarah White, Kristen White, Rebecca Wyatt and Julian Wyatt. 4 great grandchildren: Brandon, Blake, Bryan and Bryce Latta. Numerous nephews, nieces, family by heart and friends. A celebration of her life will be held in the fellowship hall of Mathews Baptist Church on Sunday November 6th at 3pm. In leu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Mathews Va. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Walter Reed Hospital and specifically Dr. John C. Gretes for the wonderful care they provided her.
