Susan Barrick

Susan Oliver Barrick, age 81, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was a native of Martinsburg, W.Va. and graduated in 1950 from Martinsburg High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in 1954 from Shepherd University and later on her Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to Cobbs Creek, Va. in 1974. Susan retired from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) as a Research Librarian and was credited for establishing the Institute's library. Susan was a lifelong learner and always found blessings in everyone and everything.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Ruth Oliver Barrick, and a special friend, Arliene Clements.

She is survived by dear friends, Neil and Patricia Armistead and many more wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church, Cobbs Creek. Burial will follow at a later date.
