Susan Lynn Engel Botts, 49, of Mathews, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on July 15, 1971 to Richard Lee Engel and Janet Ruth Van Houte.
She loved gardening, baking, sewing, knitting, embroidery, celebrating holidays and watching reality TV. She adored 80’s punk rock music, long walks, the beach and especially seeing the sun set or rise over the ocean. She enjoyed assisting with school activities and served as a parent liaison during the children’s youth. She was an avid participant within her cancer community, always listening and sending positive vibes.
Susan cherished her children, family, and friends, enjoying every minute she could find to spend with them. She had a strong faith in God and led by his example every day.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Ruth Engel. She is survived by her father, Richard Lee Engel, brother William Benton Engel, children Moriya Botts, Madeline Botts, Gabriel Botts, Amelia Botts, a very special cousin, Merri Sanders and soul sister Paula Isaacson Hinrichs. She will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held later. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel is assisting the family.
