Thelma Pierce Sears, age 102, of Saluda died Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was the widow of Raymond B. Sears and was a dedicated member of Salem United Methodist Church for over seventy-five years where she was a charter member of the Memorial Association. Thelma was also a former member of the Middlesex County Women’s Club. To know Thelma was to know a kind, loving and beautiful lady especially a good listener. Her home was always open to friends and family and to anyone who needed a helping hand. She was always ready with a smile and if you were fortunate enough to be invited for a meal you were surely in for a treat. Survived by her daughter, Norma Jean Sears; a special brother-in-law, Robert Sears and his wife, Marjorie and a host of nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her siblings. Her last beloved brother, Woodrow M. Pierce, died on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the age of 93. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church, Gloucester.
