Thomas W. Throckmorton, 75, of Saluda, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. As a career, Tommy coached at various colleges, as well as scouted for the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring. Upon his retirement he helped to form the Middlesex Youth Football League and enjoyed umpiring little league baseball in the county. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Floyd Wayne Enroughty.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Jane Major Throckmorton; a son, Thomas Christopher Throckmorton; his mother, Doris Enroughty and a sister, Pam. Also missing his Pop is his grand pup, Marlin as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Tommy really wanted to thank all of the many coaches he worked with over the years and all the players he had the pleasure of coaching. “They kept me young.”
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Randolph Macon College, Birdsong Hall, 114 College Avenue, Ashland, Virginia 23005. Arrangements are by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, Virginia.
