Vernon P. (Poochie) Thomas, age 78, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was a memeber of Salem United Methodist Church and was also a member of the choir.
He was employed at BASF Company at the Williamsburg plant as a Research Technician and retired after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Thomas; 3 sons, Vernon Wade Thomas and his wife, Mary, Barry Neal Thomas and Richard Alan Thomas and his wife, Kirsten; a sister, Sylvia Jordan; 6 grandchildren, Beverly, Jason, Michael, Mindy, Matt, and Trevor and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 7 8:30 pm at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home Chapel with burial to follow in Windsor Garden Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salem UMC Building Fund, c/o Marsha Morgan, 153 Hills Bay Drive, Hudgins, Virginia 23076.
