Vincent Lindell Pletnick, 75, of Port Haywood, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Born February 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Tony and Rose Pletnick of New Haven, Connecticut. Vinny, as everyone called him, was a kind-hearted person who loved being with friends and his in-laws. He lost the love of his life, Linda in 2020. He attended Lynchburg College where he completed his bachelor's degree in English. He worked in the service industry for many years until his retirement. He served in the United States Navy and was assigned to the USS Sylvania. Vinny loved his Pittsburgh sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Susan T. Irwin of Newport News, Virginia; his brothers-in-law, Bill and Thomas Turner of Newport News, Virginia; a nephew, Zachary Turner, and wife, Laura; a niece, Katie Suarez of Richmond, Virginia; grand-nephews, Joshua and Peyton Turner, as well as cousins and special friend, Claudette.
Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Williamsburg/Jamestown Foundation and the American Cancer Society. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews is assisting the family.
