Virginia Anton

Virginia Marie Major Anton of 2003 Cobb Street, Farmville, VA. 23901, passed away after a short illness on Jan. 31, 2018. A longtime resident of Saluda, Marie, affectionately known to the family as Jennie, was born Sept. 19, 1926. Marie was predeceased by her parents, John Muscoe Major and Mary Catherine Booker Major, her siblings, Clarence Major (Mildred, Lillian), Ruby Lee Major Taylor (William), Hubert (Josephine), Lucy Major Davis (William), Walter Major, Thomas Major (Roberta). She is survived by her youngest brother Robert (Carolyn), her children, Vincent Lee (Linda), Constance Marie Anton Sandman (David), Noel Wesley (Christie), Samuel Gregory (Lynn), many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and will be missed by all. Marie was a retired USPS clerk with the Saluda Post office, and a longtime member of Saluda Baptist Church. She loved her church and her community. Marie was involved in many volunteer organizations in the county including Hands Across Middlesex. Each Tuesday she would play Canasta with her “card girls” and she was always ready for a game of Scrabble. Her memorial service will be held at Saluda Baptist Church 2 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. Family visitation will be during the meal in the Fellowship Hall immediately following her service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Saluda Baptist Church, P.O.
