Waltraud E. Bauer, 75 of White Stone, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Better known as “Val” or “Ma”, she was born in Oberkleen, Germany on March 28, 1947 to Walter and Marie Wallisch.
She loved her family and her hobbies included traveling, gardening, crafting, sewing, fishing, and creating edible and drinkable concoctions. She was raised as a Roman Catholic and converted to a Baptist with a love for the bounty of mother nature. Val wore many hats from a store manager, construction worker, bartender, landscape professional, entrepreneur with Princess House Tupperware and she was also the local Avon lady. Her best job was that of Mother and Oma. They were her favorites and most challenging! Mom always said “Don’t you dare cry; you better celebrate and have a party”.
She was predeceased by her loving spouse of 34 years, Burbege Owens and her parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Beate Heintz, Andrea Taylor, April Bauer; grandchildren, Jannis Heintz, Malte Heintz, Dana Merz, Lukas Krug, Jennings (JB) Rogers; great-grandchild, Hannah; and two brothers, Walter and Gunter Wallisch.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia. A reception will follow the service. Flowers may be sent to Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews.
