William Langley Deagle, Sr., 88, of Port Haywood, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Langley graduated from Mathews High School and worked for the Naval Weapons Station as a graphic artist. Many john boats, fishing boats and yachts have had their names illustrated by his hand. He is the artist of many original works of art both commissioned and inspired. Most recently his talent graced the official 2021 Market Days poster. Langley has been an usher, a greeter and an active member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church for thirty years. Yet above all, his crowning achievement has been a life lived as an epistle of faith and a testimony to the God he serves. His marriage to Janet Deagle of 63 years is to be lauded and admired. His three children are a credit and legacy to him. He is beloved by his five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. His is a life seldom seen, a man of honor, and integrity and life giving faith.
He is predeceased by his father and mother, William Otha Deagle and Alice Laughton Deagle and his sister, Jean Wesley.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Deagle; his daughters, Debbie Morgan (Chris) and Teresa White (Luther); a son, William Deagle (Jessica); grandchildren, Trista Brown (Willie), Kandace Shuber (Lincoln), Jon Langley Deagle, Shea Deagle, and Josiah Deagle; great-granddaughters, Kelyn Brown, Kinsley Brown; a brother, Jimmy Deagle (Nita) and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Cobbs Creek, Virginia with a funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at the Diggs Family Cemetery, Port Haywood, Virginia. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia is assisting the family.
