William Lucius Foster, of Locust Hill, born Sept. 23, 1930 received his eternal reward June 16, 2016 with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine M. Foster. Survived by his children, Wayne A. Foster (Lisa), Deborah F. Figg (Ed), Linda Foster-Burkard and Annette F. Greenwood. Grandchildren, Josh Fitchett (Debbie), Joey Fitchett (Nina), Vail Blake, Ashley Hutcheson (Jesse), Lauren Figg, Christopher Deal, Charlotte Deal (Sonny), Lucius Williams and Stefanie W. Campbell (Kevin). Great-grandchildren, Lisa-Faye Hinson, Alex Fitchett, Kloe Fitchett, Trey Fitchett, Sarah Fitchett and Matthew Fitchett. Sisters, Betty Williams, Ada Powell, and Agnes Wade. Numerous nieces, nephews and special pet, Dixie. Lucius proudly served his country as a United States Marine, worked for and retired from Chesapeake Corporation and was a farmer, farming the land he loved. He was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church and served as a deacon with a gentle, quiet spirit. The later years of his life he fought the fight with leukemia and also head and neck cancer. He displayed to his family and all who knew him the strength of the good soldier. His journey was completed, well done good and faithful servant. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society for research of Head & Neck Cancer and the American Heart Association. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Topping, VA, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Davis & Rev. Edward Harrow, Sr. Arrangements by Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
