William Jessie

William Ryland Jessie, Sr. “Cotton” Age 89 of Deltaville, VA , passed away on January 6, 2013.  Mr. Jessie was a lifelong farmer, avid hunter and the former owner of W.R. Jessie, Sr. & Sons Marine Contractors, constructing many of the earliest docks and seawalls in the area.

He was preceded in death by his son William R. Jessie, Jr. and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Annie Irene Jessie, a daughter Suzanne Davis (Burton) of Heathsville, sons Tommy Jessie (Gloria) of Richmond, Jimmie Jessie (Judy) of Hartfield , a daughter-in-law, Carol Jessie, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda, VA.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30PM until the service time.  Interment will be held at Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors, Deltaville,VA.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 98, Deltaville,VA 23043., in his memory.
