William Williams

William Herbert “Bill” Williams, age 76, of Richmond, VA passed away on Friday, November 10th, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Edward Williams, his father, William Wellington Williams, and his mother Mabel Helena Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Christine Marie Williams; daughter Gwen Marie Williams and her husband, Alan; son Mark Edward Williams and his wife, Kylie; grandchildren Sam, Eloise and Wells Davis and Noah and Emme Williams as well as many other loving family members and friends. Bill was born on August 19, 1941 in Revis, VA to William and Mabel and later moved to Horse Point in Hartfield, VA. He spent the rest of his teenage years at Horse Point before moving to Richmond where he attended Randolph Macon College as well as the University of Richmond. He also served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He retired as Sales Manager at Industrial Supply Corporation where he spent most of his career. Bill met his beautiful wife, Christine, on an interesting blind date, and later married on July 9, 1966. They raised two children Gwen and Mark and have five charming grandchildren. Bill’s favorite hobby was playing golf and he followed the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech Hokies very closely. Bill was a member of Hermitage Baptist and Skipwith United Methodist churches for many years. Bill and his wife Christine traveled to a number of exciting places in Europe and the United States. For those who knew him, Bill always had a smile on his face, rarely complained and loved to cut up and crack jokes. He had nicknames for everyone and was always the life of the party. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 at Hermitage Baptist Church in Church View, VA. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Separately, a memorial service is being planned in Richmond, date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Michael J Fox foundation for Parkinson’s research. Donation Processing The Michael J Fox foundation P.O.
