Woodrow Abbott

Woodrow W. “Woody” Abbott, Jr., age 80, of Water View died Thursday, September 26, 2013. He was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, charter member and former fire chief of the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department, a retired building contractor and waterman. He was predeceased by a son, Guy L. Abbott and is survived by his wife, Annie Abbott; a daughter, Annette Tabor; a son, Russell Abbott, seven grandchildren and one great grandson; sisters, Virginia Smith and Patricia Ellis; a brother, Eugene Abbott. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Hermitage Baptist Church, Thanksgiving Food Bank, PO Box 190, Church View, VA 23032.
